POSITION SPECIFICS

The Pennsylvania State University Department of Kinesiology housed in the College of Health and Human Development, is actively seeking applications for a term-limited, Associate Teaching Professor in the area of motor control and movement science. The selected candidate will support a range of courses at the undergraduate level.These include: required, core courses in motor control and behavior; elective courses in health professions; general education courses in medical terminology, and others, as assigned by the Department Head. As a result, the ideal candidate will be able to teach kinesiology and health content to students with a wide range of backgrounds. In addition, courses are expected to be offered in online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

Key Qualifications of the Candidate:

  • Candidates will have an earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Motor Control, Bio-engineering, or related field, prior to beginning at Penn State.

  • Candidates should have at least five years of teaching experience across a range of courses and delivery formats, with some direct experience with the required courses listed above.

  • Experience in online and in-person instruction is preferred.

  • Specific training in pedagogy / teaching methods is preferred.

  • Experience with clinical applications of kinesiology (e.g physical therapy, occupational therapy) is preferred.
