Registered Nurse (RN) - Heart Failure Unit

Full-Time - Day/Midnight rotating - 12-hour shifts

Hours: 7A-7P & 7P-7A (rotating shifts)

Weekends and holidays as required.

The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital is a 36bed specialized post-critical care complex cardiac unit providing highacuity care to patients with complex heart failure and postoperative cardiac needs. Within the unit, 12 beds are designated for postoperative openheart surgery and LVAD patient population requiring advanced clinical expertise and specialized nursing competencies.

As a Registered Nurse on 5E, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients who may have chest tubes and surgical drains, largebore central venous catheters, and external cardiac pacing wires. RNs are responsible for advanced assessment, continuous hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and early detection of changes in patient condition.

Education & Requirements:

• BSN preferred
• Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire required.
• At leastone year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
• Previous stepdown experience preferred
• Previous critical care experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
