Who You Are... As Director of FP&A, you will play a pivotal role in directing the financial performance and analytics delivery for the company by owning the full financial management cycle including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, while providing strategic insights to support decision-making and drive operational efficiency. This Position... Some examples of the work you might do includes:
- Leads a central team that coordinates financial planning & analysis activities including timelines, targets and requirements for annual operating plan, monthly business reviews and forecasts, analysis of monthly results,and operational updates for the board of directors meetings.
- Manages process functionality, standardization and changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business planning processes and systems.
- Serves as an advocate for the business while leading the assessment of company plans and business plan performance, including risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions to identify value creation opportunities and improve business outcomes.
- Partners with the regional leadership teams to provide value-added insight into the business.
- Prepares a monthly reporting package that includes comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus forecast variances with comprehensive explanations of differences.
- Drives an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the company strategy and partners with regional leadership teams to ensure execution.
- Develops and monitors the company's annual budget and monthly forecasts, which shall include establishing budget tools, setting timelines and acting as project manager for the company, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.
- Prepares, maintains, and monitors the company's long range strategic planning financial models.
- Prepares ad-hoc reporting for earnings releases, earnings calls, and board presentations as needed.
- Actively owns key finance and business processes and applications including data and analytics strategy.
- Partners with senior leadership to develop and enhance competitive intelligence, customer intelligence, geographic economic data and technology trends.
What You Need...
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or Strategic/Operational Finance
- 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring high performing teams
- Experience in a construction or industrial environment with percentage completion accounting.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis techniques, with the ability to generate actionable insights and recommendations
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other relevant tools to support financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
- Team player with demonstrated ability to lead and influence others outside of their direct-reporting lines.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas, financial results, and actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrate high integrity, intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and comfort with challenging/presenting ideas to the management team.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, willingness to "do what it takes" to get the job done, and commitment to challenging the status-quo to make things better.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to proactively partner with functions across the company.
- Ability to travel 5-10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA.
- Experience with Adaptive Insights (Workday) Planning Software.
