HR Summer Intern (People Operations)

Location: Primarily Remote (Tampa, FL, for occasional training & meetings)
Duration: Summer Internship (May-August)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week
Work Environment: 90% remote / 10% in office (~ 2x per month)
Pay: $19-20 per hour

This is a hands-on HR internship where you'll support real work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

You'll join a team of 10 HR Operations associates supporting a company of 10,000 associates. a scale that gives you meaningful, resume-building experience while still working closely with your team and leaders.

Summer is our busiest season, and we're bringing on an intern to help us do what matters most:

You'll be doing real work that directly supports associates across the organization while learning how HR operates at scale.

What You'll Do

Onboarding & New Hire Support

  • Help expedite onboarding for new hires, so they're ready to support clients and teams quickly

  • Guide candidates through onboarding steps and ensure completion

  • Provide a welcoming, helpful experience for all new hires

  • Offer one-on-one support to answer questions and resolve issues

  • Conduct I-9 verification meetings, reviewing documentation, and confirming compliance with federal requirements

Associate Support (Core to the Role)

  • Respond to associate inquiries through our case management system

  • Gain hands-on experience working in Workday, supporting real-time HR operations and associate data management

  • Serve as part of a team supporting thousands of associates

  • Assist with policy questions and HR processes

  • Help ensure fast, accurate, and thoughtful responses

Documentation & Compliance

  • Verify I-9 documentation and maintain accurate records

  • Review background checks and support adjudication processes

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies

What We're Looking For

  • Current college junior or senior, or recent graduate, pursuing or holding a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

  • Fast and productive, with the ability to keep up in a high-volume environment

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Friendly, approachable, and professional in all interactions

  • Comfortable leading video calls with new hires

  • Patient and willing to guide associates through processes step-by-step

  • Team-oriented and collaborative

  • Not afraid to ask questions and reach out to peers while learning

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Interest in HR, Business, or a related field
