Responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide people policies that enable a modern, compliant, and scalable workforce. Partner closely with HR leadership, Legal, Compliance, and Business Unit stakeholders to ensure McLane's people policies align with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry-leading practices across Fortune 100 digital supply chain organizations. Serve as a center of excellence for people policy, ensuring clarity, consistency, and risk-aware decision-making across the enterprise. Drive proactive policy modernization, governance discipline, and clear communication to support operational excellence, workforce agility, and a strong teammate experience. This position will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX. What you'll do as a HR Policy Manager:
- Lead the development, governance, and lifecycle management of enterprise people policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure alignment with business strategy, legal requirements, and organizational values.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders on the interpretation and application of people policies, ensuring consistent and equitable practices across the enterprise.
- Monitor and assess regulatory, legislative, and industry trends impacting workforce policies; translate changes into clear, actionable policy updates in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
- Drive policy modernization initiatives, simplifying and standardizing policy frameworks to support a digitally enabled, scalable workforce across corporate and operational environments.
- Establish and maintain policy governance processes, including approval workflows, documentation standards, version control, and audit readiness.
- Develop and deliver policy education and communication materials to ensure leaders and teammates understand expectations, responsibilities, and changes impacting the workforce.
- Produce executive-ready reporting and insights on policy adoption, risk exposure, and emerging trends to inform leadership decision-making.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, IT, Communications) to ensure people policies are integrated with enterprise systems, tools, and operating models.
- Identify opportunities to benchmark and adopt best practices from Fortune 100 and digitally mature supply chain organizations to strengthen McLane's people policy framework.
- Support enterprise initiatives by ensuring people policies enable change, transformation, and operational resilience without creating unnecessary friction.

Qualifications you'll bring as a HR Policy Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM, SPHR) preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in HR policy, governance, compliance, or enterprise people strategy within a complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining enterprise-wide policy frameworks in highly regulated or operationally complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance, and policy governance best practices.
- Proven ability to translate complex regulatory or legal concepts into clear, practical, and business-friendly policies.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, executive-level policy documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder influence skills.
- Ability to operate with discretion, sound judgment, and a high level of professionalism.
- Experience supporting large-scale, distributed workforces in supply chain, logistics, or technology-enabled environments.
- Strong project management and change management capabilities.
- Comfort working in matrixed, fast-paced enterprise environments.
- Ability to leverage data and insights to inform policy decisions and continuous improvement.
- This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
