Overview

At UW Credit Union, our Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) plays a critical role in helping the organization execute on strategic priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes for our members, employees, and business partners. We are seeking an experienced Lead Enterprise Project Manager (internally known as Project Manager III) to lead some of our largest, most complex, and highest impact initiatives.

This role goes beyond traditional project management. While this individual will lead complex projects from initiation through implementation, they will also be expected to manage initiatives that involve multiple interconnected workstreams, cross functional teams, phased deliverables, vendor relationships, and significant organizational change. This role is well suited for someone who has experience thinking beyond a single project plan and can effectively coordinate broader programs or enterprise initiatives with many moving parts.

The Lead Enterprise Project Manager will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders across the organization. They will work closely with executive sponsors, business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and project team members to ensure alignment, remove barriers, manage risk, and keep work progressing toward intended outcomes. Success in this role requires strong project management expertise, excellent communication and facilitation skills, emotional intelligence, business acumen, and the ability to influence without direct authority.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and leading teams through change. They will bring a strong understanding of project and program management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches, and know when and how to apply the right methodology based on the work being delivered.

Responsibilities

Lead large, complex, cross functional projects and programs from initiation through implementation.
  • Manage enterprise initiatives that may include multiple workstreams, dependencies, vendors, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, resource plans, risk logs, communication plans, and change management plans.
  • Partner with project sponsors, business leaders, and technology teams to define scope, priorities, success measures, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate project meetings, decision making, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project status and provide clear, concise updates to executive leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Determine and apply the appropriate project management approach, including Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams and workstreams to manage interdependencies, risks, competing priorities, and resource constraints.
  • Lead efforts related to organizational change management, communication planning, training, and implementation readiness.
  • Support business analysis activities such as documenting requirements, process mapping, future state design, testing coordination, and user acceptance testing.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and influence without direct authority.
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the EPMO.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • 6 years+ project management experience leading complex initiatives across multiple business areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, resources, timelines, risks, and vendor relationships.
  • Experience partnering with executive leaders, business teams, and technical teams to drive alignment and decision making.
  • Strong business analysis, process improvement, and change management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and lead through complexity.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Agile certification such as Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org.
