The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

As a Registered Vascular Technologist, you will perform critical vascular diagnostic procedures under the direction of physicians to identify normal and abnormal anatomical structures. You will play a versatile role by preparing patients for treatment, assisting intra-operatively during vascular procedures, and ensuring immediate communication of positive test results to the medical team. This position is essential for high-quality patient care, requiring technical expertise in arterial, venous, and carotid studies alongside a strong commitment to departmental efficiency and patient safety.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma from an accredited Ultrasound or Vascular program.
  • Registry eligible with the requirement to obtain registration as a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) within the first year of employment.
  • Ability to meet physical demands including constant standing, walking, and the ability to frequently push/pull equipment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact constantly with patients and clinical staff.

Preferred:

  • One year of professional vascular experience preferred (completion of an accredited school will be considered in lieu of experience).
  • Experience performing Pulse Volume Recordings (PVR).
  • Prior experience assisting in intra-operative vascular procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Competently perform vascular ultrasound diagnostic procedures, including arterial, venous, and carotid studies, by properly positioning patients and locating specific areas for interpretation.
  • Prepare patients for examination by capturing brief histories, including chief complaints, vital signs, and weight.
  • Identify abnormal structures or findings and proactively contact the reading physician regarding positive test results prior to patient discharge.
  • Assist physicians both in the office setting and intra-operatively during complex vascular procedures.
  • Perform Pulse Volume Recordings (PVR) in strict accordance with established policy and procedure.
  • Maintain accurate departmental documentation, including daily logbooks, consolidating reports for ordering physicians, and completing patient charges.
  • Manage technical data security by performing monthly backups of patient data.
  • Uphold rigorous patient safety standards, including correct patient identification, Universal Protocol for procedural sites, and CDC Hand Hygiene Guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients by name, directing guests to appropriate areas, and treating all patients with dignity and respect.
