Job Summary


The Systems Administrator- Linux (RHEL) is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of enterprise systems and associated hardware. This role ensures system reliability, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices while supporting both physical and virtual environments. The administrator works independently on moderately complex assignments and contributes to infrastructure stability and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities



  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems and related infrastructure
  • Manage system environments including physical and virtual servers
  • Monitor system performance and implement tuning improvements
  • Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to maintain system integrity
  • Perform backup and recovery operations for IT infrastructure
  • Analyze system logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues
  • Allocate and manage storage resources effectively
  • Recommend system enhancements and functional specifications based on best practices
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to communicate solutions and support initiatives
  • Assist other technical staff with system-related tasks and assignments


Job Requirements



  • Strong experience administering RHEL environments
  • Knowledge of system infrastructure management, including virtualization
  • Experience with system performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery processes
  • Ability to apply technical standards, principles, and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills for moderately complex technical issues
  • Effective communication skills across cross-functional teams


Education



  • Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent experience)
  • Master's degree may substitute for some experience


Work Experience



  • 2-4 years of relevant systems administration experience with a Bachelor's degree
  • Less than 2 years of experience acceptable with a Master's degree
