About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate Publisher with proven experience working in research publishing, and comfortable with customer-facing role and flair for managing relationships with society leaders and other stakeholders across communities and subject disciplines. You will manage a portfolio of society relationships through journal contract lifecycles including the renewal of partner contracts. As an integral member of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team, you will work collaboratively with smart, friendly, and highly skilled colleagues to execute plans and initiatives related to the publishing portfolio with a focus on identifying opportunities for development and strategic growth to support partnership initiatives and priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of ongoing relationships with publishing partners such as learned societies, universities, and hospitals through various communication channels and reporting tools.
  • Ensure through excellent, regular communication that partners are aligned and aware of our strategy around journal growth, open access, and additional high-level themes impacting the research publishing ecosystem.
  • Undertake research and prepare materials to renew journal publishing agreements by supporting the development of business offers with senior colleagues and colleagues in Finance; assist in delivering comprehensive renewal proposals; Gather background information needed for financial projections and collaborate with colleagues in the negotiation of contracts.
  • Participate in a team-of-teams approach to deliver smooth service and portfolio growth and sustainability

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills, and the ability to ensure internal and external alignment with strategic goals.
  • Experience in account management, working with cross-functional groups, and communicating with various internal teams
  • Experience using and explaining financial modelling to reflect changes in the publishing industry and to budget accordingly
  • Have a proven track record of strong solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving; strong data analytics, time management, and presentation skills; organized working style; excellent communication (written and oral)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of publishing experience and solid conceptual knowledge of the different aspects of journal publishing industry

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
