What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Environment,Healthand Safety (EHS) Technician to join the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Team.Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technicians are a critical part of the EHS team at Tesla. Reporting to the EHSManager,theEHS Technician supports day-to-day operations by handling floor EHS inspections, improving employee engagement, collecting, and recording EHS information, and driving continuous improvement of overall EHS processes and systems. Tesla is seeking an EHS Technician to deliver essential duties build and sustaining services for our Megapack Commercial Battery Energy Storage System factory,locatedin Lathrop, CA. They will use human and organizational principles to drive ownership of safety,healthand environmental impacts, with a focus on engagement, learning from events, training, and a systems-level problem solving.


What You'll Do
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor to engage with shop stakeholders and production associates in fostering a robust safety culture
  • Perform Job/Task Hazard Assessments and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Review SOPs and work practices toidentifyany safety concerns. Support EHS Specialists with safety concerns,assistwith coordination of e-delivery and stocking of safety supplies (PPE, first aid kits, eyewash stations, etc.)
  • Review governmental agency regulations and perform gap assessmentsand action corrective steps toattaincompliance;Perform inspections as required by regulatory agencies
  • Develop and install safety signage (e.g., emergency evacuation maps, safety one pagers)
  • Support Lockout/Tagout program with labeling, training verification, and lock distribution
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly EHS inspections (regulatory, ergonomics, shop specific) and input data into EHS databases; Address, document, and support safety production and construction concerns
  • Organize, file, andmaintainsafety documentation (e.g., one note records, pass down logs,); Ensure all support documentation is collected foreventreports

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Healthand Safety or related field,or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial or similar environment implementing and supporting EHS programs
  • Familiarity with EHS topics such asOSHA 10, OSHA 30, General Industry certification,Hazard Communication,Forklift Operation Certification, Hazardous Waste Generator RCRATraining,Hazardous Waste ShipperDOTtraining, HAZWOPER 40 Training
  • Practical, hands-on experience withWorkplace inspections, Hazard recognition and control, Material handling safety and ergonomics,Poweredindustrial vehicle safety, Training,coachingand guiding people in EHS topics, Hazardous/other regulated waste management
  • Able to rapidly respond to employee health emergencies, discern audiblealarmsand activate emergency procedures.Supportemergencyservices team, as needed
  • Evidence of exceptional ability: Clear communication, teamwork, problem solving skills, and ability to adapt quickly to changes. Willingness to goabove and beyondwithout being asked. Well organized, excellent attention to details and a passion for Environment, Health and Safetycompliance and the care of others
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs; Ability to stand and/or walk for 10+hrsdailyand potential to work with materials which contain hazardous chemicals

    Expected Compensation
    $20.30 - $43.20/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
