Location : New York City, NY

This position will have an HR generalist background with 5-7 years of minimum experience and understand the basic principles and functions of a human resource department. This individual will support all employees, all programs, benefits and payroll, recruiting, and related projects for two entities in a multiple state setting. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in an office setting. This position will need to be knowledgeable and resourceful in the below areas:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in driving company-wide initiatives and annual initiatives as put forth by the business and Human Resource Department.


  • Own the onboarding process and the termination process.


  • Respond to department mail and notices including all state tax notices and all state registrations requiring renewal related to payroll.


  • Manage billing and billing reconciliation to ensure all benefit payments are correct and paid timely. Follow payment schedule and communicate regularly with accounts payable.


  • Manage benefits claim process and payments for self-insured medical and dental plans.


  • Manage employee data changes, including new hire set up, benefits enrollment, benefits adjustments, benefits credits, and extra benefits charges, termination paperwork, and assist with other HRIS system events such as open enrollment.


  • Process monthly reports as required including head count report, turnover report, maintaining monthly employee reports to different groups. Assist with special reporting for leadership as well as business presentation proposals.


  • Participate in ongoing projects related to policy, compliance, systems, and efficiency.


  • Current ADP experience with both payroll and benefits is preferred. Experience managing payroll is required including understanding of types of pay, types of benefits deductions, and managing file data, and connection files with all vendors.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an understanding of the HR function or have a minimum of five years of experience as a generalist and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree is required, education in in Labor Relations or Human Resources is preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of experience and an understanding of the terminology and mechanics of the Human Resource process is required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write detailed correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and employees of the organization. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Expertise applying these math skills to common HR calculations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills:

Excellent computer skills with a concentration in HR related applications. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including excel, as well as ADP Work Force Now or ADP Comprehensive Services, and using vendor websites.
