JOB SUMMARY

The Community & Entrepreneur Engagement Coordinator serves as the primary external-facing representative of Saint Louis University's Habitat for Neighborhood Business (SLU-HNB). This role is responsible for building trust within under-resourced neighborhoods, engaging aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, developing partnerships, and ensuring that entrepreneurs feel supported, heard, and well-served throughout their participation in SLU-HNB programs.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advances SLU-HNB's mission by actively engaging in under-resourced neighborhoods and strengthening community relationships

  • Conducts outreach to identify aspiring and existing entrepreneurs for participation in SLU-HNB programs

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for SLU-HNB entrepreneurs, ensuring consistent communication and engagement

  • Regularly verifies and documents entrepreneur satisfaction, expectations, and program impact

  • Supports entrepreneur onboarding and assessment in collaboration with the Operations & Program Coordination Manager

  • Maintains a visible presence in the community and at events to strengthen trust and awareness of SLU-HNB

  • Recruits, engages, and retains volunteer

  • Attends evening and weekend community meetings and events as required

  • Represents HNB in meetings, presentations, and speaking engagements

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Strong professional and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to build trust and relationships in diverse and under-resourced communities

  • Experience in community engagement, outreach, or small business support

  • Networking and partnership-building skills, particularly with entrepreneurs and non-profits

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal team members

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree

  • Marketing, fundraising, or public relations experience

  • Experience working with Universities
