Position Title: Chemist II Work Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 Assignment Duration: 24 Months Work Arrangement: Onsite Position Summary: Seeking an Analytical Laboratory Professional to support laboratory operations and analytical testing for EPA and AIHA accredited programs. This role requires a strong foundation in Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Analyses, along with hands-on experience in advanced analytical techniques and a commitment to quality, compliance, and scientific excellence. Background & Context: The Organization is seeking an Analytical Laboratory Professional to support laboratory operations and analytical testing for EPA and AIHA accredited programs. Key Responsibilities: * Perform analytical testing in support of occupational hygiene and environmental laboratory programs. * Analyze, document, and troubleshoot assays using HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, ELISA, and related techniques. * Perform method development, optimization, validation, and verification. * Conduct analysis of large molecule samples and complex matrices as required. * Maintain quality system compliance, standard operating procedures, and alignment with accreditation policies. * Ensure data integrity through accurate documentation, review, and reporting of results. * Participate in investigations, deviation assessments, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action activities. * Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across scientific, quality, and operational functions. * Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support the application of innovative tools, including generative AI, where appropriate and compliant. Qualifications & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Hygiene, or a related scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred. * Experience in occupational hygiene, environmental analysis, or a related analytical laboratory environment. * Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following platforms: liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, ELISA, and large molecule analysis. * Working knowledge of GxP principles and quality systems management. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance and data integrity. * Experience working in a regulated laboratory or quality-driven environment. * Familiarity with method development and validation. * Exposure to data analysis tools, automation, or emerging technologies supporting laboratory efficiency. * Experience applying generative AI tools in a scientific or operational context. * Scientific rigor and analytical excellence * Quality and compliance mindset * Collaboration and accountability * Continuous improvement orientation * Effective communication and documentation | |
