School Psychologist (0.5 FTE) - Muskego High School

The Muskego-Norway School District is seeking a skilled professional to serve as a School Psychologist (0.5 FTE) for the 2026-27 school year and beyond for Muskego High School.

Qualifications
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license as a school psychologist;
  • Valid WI driver's license;
  • School-based experience (preferred);
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with other staff members;
  • Strong skills in identifying appropriate academic and socio-emotional interventions and supports for students.

Essential Job Functions
  • Completes standardized assessments in the area of intelligence, personality, sensory motor, achievement, and adaptive behavior for the purposes of identifying an education disability and the need for special education services or a 504 plan;
  • Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report that reflects students strengths and barriers to academic and social participation in school;
  • Works collaboratively with IEP teams to share diagnostic testing results and synthesize information shared when considering eligibility of a student for IEP services, 504 protections and/or a 504 plan;
  • Ensures a whole child approach with consideration for individual needs and experiences in all aspects of the work;
  • Maintains current knowledge of state and federal special education and 504 legislation;
  • Supports District compliance with special education and 504 legislation;
  • Completes standardized assessments to provide teams with a better understanding of learners strengths and needs in effort to identify strategies, accommodations, and support that will improve access to the general education curriculum and individual student success;
  • Provides direct individual and group counseling services to students who are experience academic, social, emotional, or behavioral adjustment problems;
  • Collaborates /consults with individual teachers regarding learning or behavioral concerns of students;
  • Assists teachers in establishing positive behavioral interventions and supports and/or classroom modifications to accommodate the learning needs of students;
  • Consults with parents, guardians and staff who suspect a student may have a disability;
  • Co facilitates Multi-Level Systems of Support (MLSS) meetings with other school leaders to monitor student's academic and behavioral progress.

Essential Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour day;
  • Ability to perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to ten pounds without assistance in an indoor setting;
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide information and assistance;
  • Ability to complete job activities in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm.
