ABOUT THE ROLE

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes & safety codes. May install or service plant machinery and the batch plant.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems using diagnostic tools.
  • Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and related components.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards and ensure code compliance.
  • Test circuits and systems for safety and compatibility using specialized devices.
  • Maintain required electrician licensing and documentation.
  • Interpret electrical plans, perform material counts, and coordinate with project managers.
  • Plan and execute wiring layouts and installations in accordance with specifications and codes.
  • Supervise and train staff on electrical installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Install grounding leads and connect power to equipment.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including recordkeeping, reporting, and supply ordering.
  • Repair or replace faulty wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Run conduit and pull wires through concealed spaces to complete circuits.
  • Fabricate parts and mount boxes for switches or outlets.
  • Perform physically demanding work, including trench digging and heavy lifting.
  • Prepare preliminary sketches and cost estimates for projects.


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of electrical codes, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, and experience using a wide range of diagnostic tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical plans. The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, to supervise or train team members as needed, and to perform physically demanding work.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE



  • 2nd year apprentice or above
  • Know and understand safety procedures
  • Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air, and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of power construction equipment, measuring devices, and testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
