Overview

The Associate will support the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of capital infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a background in business, engineering, or information technology, who has foundational experience in project scheduling, project controls, and capital project management through internships, co-ops, or early professional roles. The Associate will work closely with project managers, engineers, schedulers, and financial teams to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and updating of project schedules for capital projects using approved scheduling tools.
  • Support project controls activities including cost tracking, progress measurement, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Monitor schedule milestones, identify variances, and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations
  • Compile and analyze project data to support management dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, finance, and external stakeholders to validate schedule logic and project assumptions.
  • Support change management efforts, including schedule impacts related to scope changes and risk events.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with company standards and governance requirements.
  • Adhere to safety, compliance, and internal control requirements at all times.
  • Perform other required tasks as assigned.

Relevant Work Experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, in particular Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Foundational understanding of capital project lifecycle concepts (planning, execution, monitoring, closeout) is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines is required.
  • Experience in Project Management software such as MS Project, Primavera P6 is preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within Company service territory and supplier locations, some of which may require overnight travel.
