Position Summary

The Product Manager will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of the assigned portion of the product portfolio within the Sporlan Division of Parker Hannifin. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs and align with business objectives.

The Product Manager will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of market trends, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. This individual will develop a thorough understanding of the key drivers of their category and product lines for target market segments and gain insights into competitive products and their perceived value.

Additionally, the Product Manager will assist in building a comprehensive approach to the product offering that drives clear product positioning, aligns the product assortment with features and costs, and identifies opportunities to differentiate the product offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor product performance metrics and analyze data to assess the success of product initiatives and inform future improvements.

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new product development.

  • Product Strategy Development: Define and communicate the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs.

  • Roadmap Planning: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that prioritizes features and initiatives based on customer feedback, market trends, and business objectives.

  • Requirements Definition: Write clear and detailed product requirements and specifications to guide the development process.

  • User Experience Focus: Advocate for the end-user by gathering feedback and insights to inform product decisions and improve user experience.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product development and launch.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate product updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders and executive leadership.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish product development procedures to assist field sales in achieving profitable volume

  • Make recommendations and evaluations on new product opportunities as outlined in the Winovation process

  • Participate in or lead new product development teams as part of the Winovation process

  • Develop and present product training to field sales, customers and end users

  • Support field sales with information on products and application

  • Accompany and assist field sales as required

  • Attend sales conferences and trade shows as required

  • Assist in preparation and execution of advertising and promotional programs

  • Develop and revise product literature, catalogs, technical bulletins etc.

  • Facilitate exchange of information between engineering and field sales management

  • Assist in the development of pricing strategies

  • Assist in the development of product positioning strategies

  • Monitor activities for continuous improvements in productivity and cost reductions

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Business discipline with related experience

  • Three to five years' experience in engineering or field sales in a related industry

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications, PowerBi)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving / resolution skills and a team focus.
