Description

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Maintain racetrack surfaces (dirt, turf, or synthetic) through grading, watering, harrowing, rolling, and debris removal.
  • Assist with preparation of the racing surface and surrounding areas for scheduled races and morning training.
  • Perform routine maintenance of lawns, turf, landscaped areas, paddocks, barn exteriors, and parking areas.
  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as tractors, mowers, graders, water trucks, and hand tools.
  • Inspect grounds and surfaces for safety hazards; promptly report or correct unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with irrigation systems, drainage maintenance, and seasonal weather preparation.
  • Support setup and breakdown for race days, special events, and emergency situations.
  • Follow all safety procedures, track rules, and regulatory requirements applicable to horse racing facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment storage, and maintenance yards.
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support overall facility operations.


Competencies:



  • Ability to safely operate heavy and light maintenance machinery.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards


Work Environment:



  • Outdoor racetrack and stable environments with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, animals, and changing weather conditions.
  • Fastpaced environment requiring adherence to racing schedules and safety protocols.
