Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Front Office Coordinator to join our team! This full time Front Office Coordinator position will support the Oncology Department at our 500 South Henderson Street location in Fort Worth, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00a - 4:30p.

This position will be either a level 1 or Sr based on candidate experience.

What does the Front Office Coordinator do? (but not limited to)

Under direct supervision, coordinates office procedures with clinical staff and billing teams to ensure smooth flow of information across departments. Participates in the completion of month-end close checklist for all assigned items to ensure meeting or exceeding corporate timelines. Oversees insurance verification process and patient financial counseling to ensure patients are informed of financial obligations. Ensures that authorizations are obtained in a timely manner. Reviews posting of charges from encounter forms and hospital charges within 24 hours. Reviews daily encounter forms for completeness and accuracy, following up with appropriate staff to obtain complete information. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. This is not a secretarial position.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Coordinates office procedures with clinical staff and billing teams to ensure smooth flow of information across departments.
  • Participates in the completion of month-end close checklist for all assigned items to ensure meeting or exceeding corporate timelines.
  • Implements and complies with company reimbursement policies and procedures to maximize efficiency.
  • Reviews all attorney requests and records to ensure proper authorization has been obtained and all documentation is present.
  • Oversees insurance verification process and patient financial counseling to ensure patients are informed of financial obligations.
  • Ensures that authorizations are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Reviews posting of charges from encounter forms and hospital charges within 24 hours. Reviews daily encounter forms for completeness and accuracy, following up with appropriate staff to obtain complete information.
  • Maintains knowledge of current healthcare and billing trends and practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Front Office Coordinator position will have the following background and experience:

Level 1

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years of medical office experience.

Level Sr (in addition to level 1 requirements)

  • Minimum of five years of office administration experience.

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for prolonged periods of time.
