Overview

The purpose of this job is to assist designated Relationship Managers in the day-to-day activities of the designated Commercial Lending Department, while developing the skills necessary to progress in this area. Other purposes are to assist in portfolio management, the preparation of loan packages, and to conduct special projects as required.



Responsibilities

    Work with Credit and Lending personnel on a day-to-day basis in order to enhance working knowledge of the fundamentals of Credit and Lending, i.e. portfolio management, credit analysis, loan presentation, and loan negotiation
  • Practice business development skills through the practical application of performing business calls to customers and prospective customers in order to gain further experience in outside loan production and negotiations and support achievement of new business goals
  • Maintain participation in professional community relations to increase the bank's visibility and to further personal development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in business
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (cumulative)
      -OR-
    • a minimum of 10 years direct Banking experience in a specialized lending division related to the assigned designated department
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry with one of the following:
    • At least nine (9) months of credit analysis experience
    • At least six (6) months of customer service experience in the banking industry
  • Basic knowledge of the banking industry
  • Knowledge of Lending practices
  • General knowledge of banking products and services
  • Knowledge of sales principles
  • Knowledge of credit analysis process
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • General working knowledge of PC operations to include word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use credit analysis skills in analyzing customer financial statements
  • Decision making, problem solving, and persuasion skills
  • Able to practice time management principals in order to prioritize workload
  • Customer contact and sales and service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously and to shift priorities of customers quickly
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter as well as within a team framework
  • Four-year college degree preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
