Description

This position requires a blend of professional customer-facing engagement and technical execution:

  • Develop Demos: Architecting and deploying apps and developing AI agents to showcase Customer Experience (CX) technology.

  • Deliver Demos to Enterprise Customers: Joining high-level meetings to present technical demos and translating complex logic into business value.

Location: New York City - Manhattan. There is some flexibility in the location, however the individual should expect weekly customer demos in the NYC Avaya Office Briefing Center.

Business Role: This essential role directly supports Avaya's sales motion for selling Avaya Infinity, particularly through demonstrations conducted at the New York City Executive Briefing Center. This role is key to:

  • Developing Advanced AI Demos: The demo specialist will create AI Agents using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to showcase advanced examples and use cases of Avaya's cutting-edge technology.

  • Covering Expanding Capabilities: As Avaya Infinity's capabilities broaden, the complexity of sales demos increases, requiring dedicated resources to develop comprehensive use cases and integration examples.

  • Building Trust and Credibility: Providing tangible "show me" demonstrations is vital for building customer excitement and relationships.

RFP Compliance and Demonstrations: Meeting customer requirements in RFPs often necessitates real, working demos to prove compliance with specified capabilities.

Overview

We are seeking an AI Solutions Demo Specialist to lead the creation of high-impact technical demos showcasing Avaya's communication technology. This is a unique role requiring technical proficiency in integrating, configuring, and demonstrating web technologies and AI solutions, paired with the professional presence to engage with enterprise customers. You will bridge the gap between backend engineering and front-end storytelling, turning Avaya's architecture with open APIs into tangible, impressive customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Join high-level meetings to present technical demos to stakeholders, translating complex backend logic into business value.

  • Develop AI Agents with Model Context Protocol (MCP) to demonstrate various examples and use cases of Avaya's technology.

  • Rapid Prototype Development: Architect and deploy apps using Node.js and other modern script frameworks to showcase Avaya's core technology.

  • AI Integration: Implement agentic workflows, LLM and MCP integrations, and modern AI patterns to showcase the future of communication.

  • Cloud Orchestration: Deploy and manage backend services across cloud based & core network engineered environments.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure demos align with current roadmap capabilities.

Soft Skills & Logistics:

  • High-Level Communication: Exceptional ability to demo to customers and collaborate as a reliable team player.

  • Fast Learner: Proven ability to pick up new SDKs, APIs, and cloud services on the fly.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate technical features into engaging, customer-ready stories.

  • Presence: Based in New York City (Manhattan) Avaya Briefing Center. There is some flexibility in the location, however the individual should expect weekly customer demos in the NYC briefing center.

Requirements

Technical Requirements:

  • Visual Polish: Command of front-end technologies to ensure demos are visually polished and highly functional.

  • Backend Proficiency: Using Node.js and experience with RESTful APIs and WebSocket integrations.

  • AI/ML Fluency: Comfort with AI tools, LLMs, and agentic processes. Ability to learn and implement new libraries quickly.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with Azure network and Google Cloud (Identity management, serverless functions, and scaling).

  • Engineering Discipline: Proactive approach to version control and documentation.

Preferred Background:

Prior experience in Demo Development, Developer Relations, Selling with Demos, or a relevant background at a SaaS company focused on AI-integrated tools.

The pay range for this opportunity is from $105,00 to $135,000 + performance-related bonus + benefits. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies.
