Scientific Advisor, Medical Information

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Medical Information, the Scientific Advisor will be responsible for (1) the day-to-day handling of medical information inquiries and intake of adverse event and product complaint reports from Revance customers including clinicians and patients and (2) ensure the medical accuracy and references of all materials as the Medical Affairs reviewer on the Medical and Promotional Review Committees.

They willbe responsible forresponding to unsolicited requests for medical information or scientific exchange with HCPs. This role will also contribute to the writing and updating of standard response letters, FAQs, and any other response documents to handle unsolicited requests for medical information. They will be a key member of the review processes for both medical and commercialcustomer facingmaterials. This role may be involved in other projects supporting Medical Affairs operations.

The successful candidate willexhibitoutstanding professional oral and written communication skills along with a high degree of scientific and industryexpertise. They willdemonstratea high degree of familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards related to medical information and scientific engagement.

Responsibilities/Essential Duties:



  • Respond to Medical Information inquiries relating to Revance/Crown products from health care professionals and patients
  • Be able to thoroughly listen to and understand inquiries, identifyappropriate resources, and quickly provide solutions
  • Respond to requests for scientific exchange through email, phone, or video conference, including video presentation of approved materials
  • Document the medical inquiries and fulfillment accurately within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Recognize and collect information related to adverse events, productcomplaintsand medical device reports, and process these reportsin accordance withFDA regulations and Revance policies
  • Serve as Medical Affairs reviewer on the Medical and Promotional Review Committees: this will include verifying the medical accuracy and references of all materials
  • Document review comments and approval of materials in Veeva
  • Ability to work with other Revance personnel to provide rapid responses to unsolicited requests for medical information in compliance with corporate policiesandUS healthcare laws and regulations
  • Develop and update product-related standard response letters and FAQs to be used in responding to medical information requests
  • Evaluate and interpret the published medical literature and relevant in-house documents for the company's products and formulate available information intoappropriate responses(written and verbal)
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging therapies in aesthetics and relevant therapeutic areas, including clinical information and competitive product information, to confidently speak with internal and external partners
  • Conduct effective and compliant interactions with external stakeholders on disease state, company products (including responses to unsolicited, off-label questions), and development programs on an ad hoc basis
  • Attend congresses and support Medical Information booth as assigned
  • Contribute to other Medical Affairs projects as assigned
  • Travel requirement: Up to 20% including overnight stays



Basic Qualifications:



  • PhD, MD, PharmD, DO, or other recognized doctorate level education in life sciences or relateddiscipline.
  • 2-5 years of medical information or medical affairs experience in a life science, pharmaceutical, or medical device company.
  • Medical writing experience.
  • Experience serving as a medical information reviewer or medical revieweron a promotional review committee.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Experience with aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, neuroscience, or and/or other relevant specialties
  • Engaging in scientific discussions with Healthcare Providers e.g medical information booth and call center.
  • Ability to confidently present complex material in both formal and informal settings
  • Working knowledge of drug development, regulatory approval processes, clinical trial methodologies, and guidelines
  • Be able to execute effective literature searches
  • Proficient with a variety of software solutions that allow for virtual communication
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop andmaintaineffective professional relationships
  • Very detail oriented
  • Ability to develop project strategies and execute project details
  • Highly developed problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to effectively learn, teach, and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information
  • Ability to work independently and within teams
  • Strong organizational skills
