Faculty Part-time - Nutritional Science

General Summary of the Position:

The Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences (BNS), part of the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences (ZCHS) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML), is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach in its undergraduate and graduate Nutritional Science program. This posting is to ensure that we have strong candidates in our adjunct instructor pool for any immediate and/or future needs. Teaching opportunities could be in a variety of subject areas, in both lecture and laboratory courses, as well as clinical settings. Candidates will become an integral part of the program, working in collaboration with seasoned instructors from the department. Teaching opportunities may vary by semester.

Minimum Qualifications (required):



  • A minimum of a master's degree in nutrition or closely related field for lecture courses.
  • The desire and ability to work with diverse groups of students, peers, and supervisors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.


Additional considerations:



  • Previous teaching experience at the university/college level is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with doctoral degrees will be given preference.
  • A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required for clinical instruction.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, Union of Adjunct Faculty, Local 1596, UAW position. For Adjunct Faculty salaries, please refer to the Adjunct Faculty salary chart for the rates.
