At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don't just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset - who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

Snowflake is seeking a highly experienced and strategic U.S. Public Sector attorney to join our world-class legal team. This high-impact, high-visibility role is critical to supporting the rapid expansion of our U.S. Public Sector business. The ideal candidate will serve as a key legal partner, leveraging deep expertise in government procurement and SaaS contracting and compliance to navigate complex transactional arrangements and advise on critical regulatory and compliance matters.

This position offers a significant opportunity to shape legal strategy, build scalable processes, and directly contribute to Snowflake's success in a vital market segment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transactional Leadership: Lead the negotiation, drafting, and management of complex public sector agreements, including SaaS, Professional Services Agreements (PSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), partner agreements, and subcontracting arrangements.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Expertise: Advise on U.S. government procurement laws and regulations (including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirements) and adjacent legal areas (e.g., data rights, IP, privacy, cybersecurity/CMMC, export controls, ethics, conflicts of interest).

  • Strategic Guidance: Provide legal and strategic guidance on government sales lifecycle matters, including RFP/RFI review, risk identification, compliant proposal submissions, bid protests, claims, disputes, audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate effectively with sales, product, engineering, finance, and compliance teams to structure and close deals that align with business objectives.

  • Legal Strategy & Operations: Help develop and scale Snowflake's U.S. Public Sector legal strategy, including refining contracting frameworks, compliance policies, and operational best practices.

  • Process Improvement: Drive efficiency by creating and maintaining templates, playbooks, and training materials, and leveraging technology to enhance legal support for a high-growth sales organization.

  • Monitoring: Monitor and interpret changes in laws, regulations, and industry practices, providing proactive business advice.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in U.S. public sector transactions, ideally combining law firm and in-house experience at a high-growth SaaS or technology company.

  • Legal Expertise: Deep expertise in government procurement frameworks and contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA Schedules, IDIQs, BPAs). Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and related regulatory regimes. Familiarity with export controls, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory compliance in government contracting.

  • Education & Bar: J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership (or eligibility to practice in-house).

  • Clearance: Active Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).

  • Skills: Demonstrated excellence in contract negotiation, drafting, and risk assessment. Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Attributes: Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with strong professional integrity. Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-moving, scaling environment.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we're scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
