Description Parts & Procurement Specialist Position location: Platte City, MO Shift info: 7:00 am- 4:30 pm Central Power Systems & Services is a privately held company with deep roots going back to 1954. This position is focused on our Generator Manufacturing Division. Responsible for supporting the overall production process as it relates to raw materials and fabricated parts. Will develop schedule and release orders per schedule review process defined by the Engineering and Production group. Will monitor the status of planned and released orders and expedites/resolves issues that delay schedules. Will ensure that adequate material supply is maintained to expedite the efficient processing of the product builds. Job Duties * Work closely with vendors to provide raw materials in a timely manner. * Work with subcontract vendors for powder coating and fabricated parts. * Research websites and vendor databases for pricing * Converts requirements to orders of conventional sizes and quantities. * Schedules deliveries based on production forecasts. * Estimates need to reorder supplies due to rejections and engineering changes during manufacturing cycle. * Effective planning, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. * Retrieve and input information within our Material Resource Planning system * Monitor all orders to assure timely completion to promise date and escalate/resolve issues that may prevent timely delivery of orders. * Work with Production, Engineering, and Parts Manager for any issues related to priorities, holds, throughput or capacity issues, part shortages, or engineering changes on released orders. * Identify parts and materials with our engineering software. * Assist other team members, as needed, to ensure customer needs are met Benefits * Competitive Pay * Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance * 401k with company match * Paid Time Off * Training & Professional Development * Positive and productive work environment Qualifications Position Qualifications * An associate's degree or equivalent experience in Procurement. * A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred. * A working of knowledge of the Epicor (ERP) while not mandatory it would be beneficial Personal and professional General skill requisites * Strong organizational skills. * Good communications skills. * Excellent customer relations skills. * Good computer and systems knowledge. Specific skill requisites * Must have excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) * Solid inventory management knowledge. * Product knowledge including features and benefits knowledge of all commodities sold. * A solid understanding of pricing principles and discounting effects. * Working knowledge of warehouse storage systems and storage layout principles. * Valid Drivers License Work Conditions Central Power Systems & Services is a company that thrives on teamwork.
