TITLE: Lab Technician C

POSITION OBJECTIVE: A Level C technician is to ensure the customer requirements for quality are met through inspection and testing products, comparing the results to the order requirements and specifications, and reporting these results to production personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma/GED not preferred
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspection and testing products according to customer requirements and specifications.
• Carry out job duties assigned by Technical Engineer, Sr. Lead Technician, and Technical Manager
• Prepare testing physical properties analysis
• Safety complies with the safety rules of the plant

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Subject to extreme heat at times, temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
• Inside building environmental conditions are protected from outside weather conditions
• fluctuating movements of the body
• Laboratory temperature set at 72, +/- 3 degrees F. Outside the range is acceptable if the A/C control unit is not working properly or broken
• Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation, and dust.
• Subject to noise, causing a reason to shout to be heard above the noise level.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:

• Dart, Tear tester, Gram Scale, Meter Board, X-Rite Meter, Oakland Gauge Profiler CX-100, Dyne Pen, Tape Measure, Oakland Tensile 1500, Haze Gard, Micro Gloss, Load Tester, Friction/Peel Tester, Jog Tester, Handle Strength Tester, Micrometer, Elmendorf Tear tester, Cutting Board and sample cutter

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Stairs, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized
• Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching
• on narrow, slippery moving surfaces
• Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine and waist.
• Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances
• Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time
• Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects from a higher to a lower position, or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting: (26-50lbs.) with assistance.

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Machine operation and skilled trades, various lab equipment, where seeing at the job is within arm's reach
• Must be able to detect visual defects in film.
• Machine operation, inspection, clerical and administrative duties
