DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides training and hands-on learning in employee relations processes and workplace policies. Work involves observing case reviews, learning investigative steps, and assisting with agreement development. As an Administration and Management Trainee, you will perform the following duties:
- Grievance Learning: Observe how analysts review and analyze grievances under different procedures
- Investigation Skills: Learn techniques to gather information and assist attorneys on employment-related cases
- Contract Application: Study how workplace contracts and agreements are applied in employee relations
- Information Collection: Assist in obtaining details needed to support agency responses and decisions
- Agreement Support: Help review or prepare proposed local agreements as part of training
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Please note: This position has a 12-month Civil Service probationary period. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, incumbent will be promoted to a Human Resource Analyst 1.
- Work hours are negotiable between 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
