Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist processes employees' paychecks by collecting their data and timesheets. They verify work hours, issue deductions from wages or other earnings, update records regularly, and work closely with different departments to increase performance and ensure smooth operations. Performs all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy so that employees receive correct compensation in a timely manner.

This position reports to the Payroll Manager, Callan Marine Ltd. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Collects and verifies timekeeping information for all employees.

* Responds to complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors.

* Investigates and resolves any payroll discrepancies.

* Prepares and submits reports with payroll information to the supervisor.

* Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance with State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.

For this position, we are willing to take a candidate who is willing to learn and train while on the job.

We are open to hiring someone eager and willing to learn. Must be meticulous and have attention to detail. Data entry and computer skills are required. This job will be at the Galveston office at 6800 Harborside.
