CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team in Albany, NY, where you will play a key role in month-end close activities, financial analysis, and cash reporting. This position offers the opportunity to refine your technical skillset, collaborate across teams, and grow within a dynamic, fast-paced organization.



What You'll Do:

    Perform detailed cost and financial analysis to support accurate reporting and decision-making
  • Prepare standard monthly journal entries and assist with the month-end closing process
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation tracking and related entries
  • Support daily cash reporting and assist with treasury management activities
  • Provide backup support for cash control and accounts payable functions
  • Review financial documentation for accurate general ledger coding and alignment with budget requirements


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Familiarity with GAAP and foundational accounting principles
  • Experience in a consulting or engineering environment preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office software required; experience with Deltek preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality

Salary Range:

$72,000 - $80,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
