The Tuition & Student Accounts Specialist supports the University's student accounts operation by managing tuition and fee setup, coordinating collections activities, and reconciling student account transactions. Reporting to the Bursar, this position independently resolves complex billing, receivables, and reconciliation issues; applies institutional policy; and serves as a subjectmatter resource for tuition and student accounts processes. The role works collaboratively with campus partners to ensure accurate billing, effective collections, and strong financial controls.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide highlevel customer service for complex tuition, billing, and collections inquiries

  • Interpret and apply tuition and student accounts policies and procedures

  • Support the setup, maintenance, and validation of complex tuition and fee assessment structures, including residency, academic load, and programbased charges

  • Monitor student account balances and perform collections activities in accordance with University policies

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls

  • Coordinate corrections and reallocations of student account transactions with Finance and Accounting

  • Independently reconcile tuition, fee, payment, and receivable activity and investigate discrepancies

Finance & Administration (specifically, within the Cashier Unit)

Compensation:

$56,000 - $58,000

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working with complex financial or student account transactions in a highereducation or regulated environment

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, perform reconciliations, and resolve nonroutine issues independently

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tuition and fee setup, student billing, collections, or reconciliations

  • Experience using PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (Oracle) and/or Workday Financial Management

  • Experience working in a Bursar's Office or student accounts operation

Education:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions:
  • Office setting with regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff

  • Core Hours: Monday - Friday 7:45am - 4:30pm

  • Partially Remote (after training and probation period)

  • Occasional extended hours during peak billing or fiscal periods
