Non Exempt Dispatch Communications Supervisor

IMMEDIATE HIRING!

Part-Time NON-EXEMPT Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Part-Time Supervisor will assist with supervisor floor coverage on various shifts, assist with floor coverage during surge events, and special events. Additionally, assist as needed with Continuous Quality Improvement, Training, and with other projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be able to cover Floor Supervisor shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist as needed with our Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Assist as needed in the Training Department, including but not limited to; new training, remedial training, cross-training and skills proficiency.
  • Assist with center projects.
  • Able to work positions on the floor when staffing or call volume dictates.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor waiting and active calls.
  • Provide proactive and on-line support for trouble shooting of equipment problems.
  • Provide dispatcher staffing coverage in emergent or crisis situations.
  • Assist in modifying calls or SSM plans to meet contract response requirements.
  • Ensure that OGLs are understood and followed.
  • Resolve immediate problems on the worksite.
  • Participate in accumulation of QI data.
  • Review incidents and complaints.
  • Assist in training and continuing education.
  • Maintain certification in all areas of Center.
  • Responsible and accountable for daily compliance of shift to performance standards.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations if applicable, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel with a goal of developing a team-oriented approach with positive results.
  • Assist in driving performance management.
  • Comply with all employment laws and support affirmative action / equal opportunity and diversity goals.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, and one that attracts, grows, and retains high- quality team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • NAEMD EMD
  • Ability to obtain EMD-Q within six months
  • At least two years of prior work experience within a high-profile EMS system.
  • CAD and data entry experience with typing speed of at least 35 wpm required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Counties geography.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Color Vision: ability to distinguish and identify different colors.
