Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) - Government Contract

Location: Kittery, ME (NMRTC New England + clinics within 40-mile radius)
Job Type: Full-Time | Contract
Schedule: Weekdays Only (No Holidays)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to support patient care services at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England (NMRTCNE) and associated clinics. This role provides a structured weekday schedule, strong work-life balance, and the opportunity to serve military members and their families.

Schedule & Work Hours

  • Monday - Friday only
  • Day shift hours: Between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM
  • Shift length: 8.5-9 hours (includes unpaid meal break)
  • Max hours: 80 hours per 2-week period
  • Schedule provided: 1 month in advance
  • No weekends or federal holidays required

Recognized federal holidays off (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, Independence Day)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on nursing care to diverse patient populations
  • Administer medications and treatments per established protocols
  • Monitor patient conditions and document care accurately
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures and specialized treatments
  • Respond to urgent/emergency situations appropriately
  • Educate patients and families on care plans
  • Support clinical operations and collaborate with healthcare teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience post-graduation
  • License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted LPN/LVN license
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Ability to work at multiple clinics within a 40-mile radius (advance notice provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to follow military and federal healthcare protocols
