JOB OVERVIEW:We are seeking a Software Developer to support the DEA in developing and modernizing Web-based applications, including online customer-service capabilities that enable agency components to deliver their services online. The program is actively modernizing its web platform, migrating away from its legacy ColdFusion application toward modern web technologies. The developer will provide support for site concept, interface design, and website architecture, and will help implement interfaces to applications. After an initial 30-day onboarding period onsite, this role transitions to a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day remote). Responsibilities * Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
* Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
* Design creative prototypes according to specifications
* Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
* Perform unit and integration testing before launch
* Conduct functional and non-functional testing
* Troubleshoot and debug applications
* Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features.
* Assist in the monitoring and diagnosis of performance problems, including working with the MS Access database and Microsoft SQL Server Qualifications REQUIRED:
Up to 5 years of experience in web application development and maintenance. Recent graduates (within five years of completing a degree) and transitioning or former military members are encouraged to apply, as the program places a premium on current, modern development training.
