Position Purpose
|
This position's purpose is to oversee, supervise, and lead the Clinical Systems Analysts, ensuring all charges are captured promptly and providing support as a resource for the analysts.

Nature and Scope
|
This position oversees the Clinical Systems Analysts 1 and 2 to ensure that charges and data are properly captured and documented. Incumbent will serve as a resource to charge capture and data analysts for any charging questions. The major challenge of this position is to ensure that the accountable charging for each patient type is completed within designated timelines. This position is tasked with keeping department workflows running smoothly, including charge-related items in work queues to ensure correct and timely billing. This position is accountable for bringing issues and the need for revised/additional policies and procedures to management's attention. This candidate must be able to identify and resolve problems, set goals and priorities, and represent the department in a professional manner, as well as in the absence of leadership, as assigned. The incumbent will oversee the design of procedures, analysis, monitoring, and development of required data reporting to ensure information is accurate, actionable, and clearly presented to stakeholders. This includes establishing and tracking quality and performance metrics such as coding accuracy rates, charge capture variance, reconciliation timeliness, denial trends, productivity benchmarks, audit outcomes, and compliance indicators. This position has access to proprietary and sensitive information, requiring the highest standards of professionalism, communication, performance accountability, and strict confidentiality. The incumbent will ensure adherence to all applicable federal and state regulatory standards to maintain billing compliance and mitigate organizational risk. Responsibilities include prioritizing and directing projects assigned to Clinical Systems Analysts I & II, evaluating and approving procedural changes, monitoring operational effectiveness through measurable KPIs, and ensuring confidential information and financial expenditures are managed and released appropriately. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively.

Experience:
|
Minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare setting or environment required. Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in a clinical systems analyst, healthcare IT, revenue integrity, or related role required. Minimum of one to two years of supervisory, lead, or team coordination experience preferred. Extensive experience using Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems required. Ability to oversee departmental priorities, assign and monitor analyst workloads, and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory standards required. Strong leadership, communication, project management, and decision-making skills required.
