We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Systems Engineer III. WHAT YOU WILL DO: The System Engineer reports to the Lead Systems Engineer (JLCCTC) and performs high-level computer systems analysis; evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex applications that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.
- Engage professionally and effectively with senior management and DoD customers.
- Engage with stakeholders to develop system architectures, designs, and interface definitions.
- Serve as focal point for the development and communication of a comprehensive, integrated, and executable system architecture.
- Model architectures of complex system of systems using standards-based languages (ex. SysML / UML) within a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tool.
- Perform system requirements analysis and derivation, and manage requirements traceability and coverage.
- Direct and participate in all phases of system development with emphasis on requirements analysis, design, integration, testing and acceptance phases.
- Identify information technology project resource requirements.
- Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor's degree in field related to computer or information science discipline.
- Minimum of Five (5) years of experience supporting IT projects/programs.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Have significant java and/or C++ experience.
- Experience designing and developing system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities.
- Experience modeling systems in UML/SysML.
- Experience with systems architecture documentation using Enterprise Architect or other MBSE tools.
- Experience decomposing customer requirements into actionable system requirements.
- Highly proficient written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated capability to communicate clearly - verbally, textually, and graphically - to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Holds a current minimum DOD Secret security clearance.
- Experience with constructive simulation is a plus.
- Experience with DevSecOps/Cloud is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
- Ability to process information: compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
