Summary The Engineering Licensing & Software Asset Specialist is responsible for determining, documenting, and managing the correct software licensing models for COTS software products used within CAE's delivered simulator systems. This role serves as the liaison between engineering, procurement, vendors, and internal licensing teams to ensure compliance, cost-efficiency, repeatability, and offline activation support for air-gapped environments. The Engineering Licensing & Software Asset Specialist may also support license tracking and delivery efforts, including logging received licenses, generating software media, tracking Government Reproduction Rights on COTS documentation, and preparing status accounting records and reports. The Engineering Licensing & Software Asset Specialist performs detailed licensing analysis, vendor engagement, documentation, and lifecycle management activities to support CAE's simulator programs. Core duties include interpreting licensing models, producing SKU Bill of Materials, preparing entitlement documentation, and supporting offline activation workflows.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Preferred Skills Preferred candidates will have experience with air-gapped system deployments, Windows MAK/AVMA activation, SQL virtualization rights, and backup licensing models. They should also possess excellent documentation skills and cross-functional communication abilities
Security Responsibilities Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
