Our Level III Trauma Center features a 32-bed Emergency Department with 24 main-side beds, 23 monitored beds, 2 trauma bays, and an 8-bed Super Track area staffed by an Advanced Practice Provider. Known for our strong culture of teamwork and collaboration, we pride ourselves on supporting one another while providing exceptional care to our patients.

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families.

What You Will Do

  • Routinely provide patient care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintains employee records.
  • Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development.
  • Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals, and education.
  • Committee involvement, participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost-effective manner.
  • Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
  • Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
