Job Overview On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include teaching Mathematics and/or Statistics courses to a diverse set of students. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to improving STEM education through the use of new pedagogical initiatives and cutting edge technologies, and a research based, active learning approach involving new models of instruction. Essential Functions On a part-time basis, teach Mathematics and/or Statistics courses at the undergraduate level. Teaching is typically done as part of a team led by a faculty Course Coordinator. Most courses are taught in person on the Uptown West campus. Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities. These activities include participation in meetings and common tasks when part of a coordinated course team. Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or a Master's degree in any discipline and at least 18 credit hours of graduate-level coursework in Mathematics or Statistics. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject. Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety ofbackgrounds. Application Process Pleaseinclude a minimum of a cover letter and resume.
