Security Officer Armed Field Patrol

As a Security Officer Armed Field Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This role offers the chance to support people first, work as part of a reliable team, and bring integrity, agility, and innovation to every interaction throughout your assigned location.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entry points, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Maintain a visible armed presence in assigned areas while following all post orders, use-of-force guidelines, and applicable laws related to the assignment.
• Monitor access points, assist with de-escalation when appropriate, and communicate with local management and/or public emergency responders during security-related events.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
