The Area Branch Operations Coordinator (ABOC) partners with the Area Vice President (AVP) by supporting collaborative efforts to advance the safety, profitability, effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency of the Area Branch community. The ABOC leads the effort in providing analytics, evaluation and reporting of Branch metrics and pricing initiatives. The ABOC further supports the Area Branch locations with ongoing SAP, vendor and product training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with Regional EH&S Specialists, District Managers, Branch Managers and associates in maintaining compliance with Health Safety & Environment (HSE) standards. Leads and nurtures the localized execution of OCRs, Time Outs, Unsafe Deliveries, Good Catches and other safety programs utilized to cultivate an environment of zero accidents and zero Injuries.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of SAP and changing TCodes, Airgas Operating Standards (AOSs), and performance dashboards including but not limited to OFR, P&L, GMROI, Marketing, Walk In Sales. Guides branch leadership across the Area to foster effective adoption and execution of these systems
  • Executes Branch Operating Risk Audits (BORAs) and communicates findings to AVPs, District Managers, and Branch Managers. Partners on post-audit progress at the branch level and provides regular status updates to area leadership to support alignment with standards. Collaborate with BM on "non-compliant/needs improvement" findings from the BORA Audit to implement on the Response Action Plan (RAP)
  • Supports efforts to ensure that new employees at the branches receive the appropriate training on systems, procedures, and processes.
  • Assists with making certain that SAP enhancements, changes, corrections, reports, and other communication from various functional leaders is shared with the appropriate associates within the business Area. Actively participates in the "cascade" of information to the branches that comes from regional or corporate leadership. This may include policy changes, roll-outs, road shows, new products or services, safety compliance and other local or national projects.
  • Gathers and visualizes key branch metrics for the Area to support the AVP and District Managers in progress tracking. Identifies operational trends, communicates results, and facilitates the sharing of successful practices across the region.
  • Communicates routinely with AVP regarding progress, challenges, opportunities for growth, and process improvement suggestions at the branches. Communicate with leadership when ineffective or poor processes are identified that are contributing to transaction improvements or should be otherwise improved. (DRIVE/FIT)
  • Will assist the Branch leaders to improve First Invoice Accuracy (FIA) and SAP proficiency.
  • Supports effective teamwork, communication and collaboration between the branch associates, field sales teams, sales specialists, and Business Service Center (BSC) associates.
  • Conducts routine visits to Branches to understand and support branch performance, safety compliance, inventory levels, AOS compliance, and training gaps.
  • Frequent travel within the Area/Occasional overnight which may include branch coverage.
  • Other projects/initiatives as assigned by DM or AVP.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required. Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in branch retail sales/customer experience, production/branch operations, or welding/packaged gas industry management.

  • SAP experience required.

  • Must be proficient with SAP utilization and system capabilities.

  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals and documentation such as SDS and AOS's.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient working knowledge of Google applications.

  • Considerable independent judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

  • Analytical skills and financial acumen for articulating metrics utilized by sales and the Branches.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and to create cross-functional alignment.

  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed.

  • Self-starter; self-motivated; well organized; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail oriented.
