About This Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to join our team reviewing university payables for accuracy and compliance with state and university policies. This role is part of a collaborative team of five and works closely with partners across the division to support the units' operations.

In this position, you will review payment documents, verify expense types, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and funding restrictions. You'll identify and resolve discrepancies, support interfund processing, and help maintain accurate and timely financial transactions. You'll also serve as a resource for campus business offices, travelers, faculty, and staff-answering questions and providing guidance on travel, funding, and accounting policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to apply policy knowledge to real-world situations. They bring strong customer service skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and can clearly communicate guidance in a supportive, professional manner. They consistently interpret policies accurately and use sound judgment in daily work.

They enjoy helping others, work well independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a problem-solving approach when navigating processes and resolving issues.

Worksite Description

This position is hybrid eligible; however, the first 90 days are required to be 100% on-site. After that period, hybrid eligibility may be granted based on individual performance, with a requirement of three days on-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and one year of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong customer service skills with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to clearly communicate and apply policies in a supportive, professional manner. Attention to detail with the ability to interpret and apply policy consistently


Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
