Murrey's Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking to add a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to our team in Fife, Washington. This is a fully on-site role where you'll play an important part in keeping our billing accurate and our day-to-day accounting operations running smoothly.

Successful team members in this role tend to be organized, dependable, and take pride in producing accurate work. They're comfortable managing their responsibilities independently, while also staying connected with the team and asking questions when something isn't clear. A strong sense of accountability, integrity, and willingness to learn goes a long way in this position, along with the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily billing activities, including pulling reports, compiling data, researching service activity, and entering accurate information into the billing system

  • Review customer account pricing to ensure proper billing and make corrections as needed

  • Extract and analyze customer data and maintain tracking spreadsheets for reporting purposes

  • Reconcile third-party disposal invoices against disposal tickets

  • Track and report customer-specific hauling and service details in accordance with contractual agreements

  • Support monthly invoicing processes

  • Provide backup support across departmental functions and participate in cross-training

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting, billing, or accounts receivable experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry and basic formulas

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to ask questions when clarification is needed
