The Loss Mitigation Intake Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization's loss mitigation functions by performing a variety of administrative and customer-facing tasks. This position is primarily responsible for managing the initial intake process for customers seeking financial hardship assistance.
The coordinator gathers and reviews financial documentation, evaluates application completeness, and supports eligibility assessments for loss mitigation programs. This role requires timely, accurate, and compliant file reviews in accordance with investor guidelines and applicable servicing standards. The Loss Mitigation Intake Coordinator works closely with the broader Loss Mitigation team to ensure an efficient, compliant, and customer-focused process. *Key Responsibilities* * Manage the intake process for loss mitigation applications, including written and verbal submissions * Request, collect, and review financial and supporting documentation to complete loan workout packages within required timelines * Ensure all documentation meets investor, insurer, state, federal, and CFPB guidelines * Accurately enter and upload documents into internal document management systems (e.g., BLITZ/AIQ or equivalent) * Track and follow up on outstanding documentation or conditions to ensure timely decisioning * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and file status * Provide clear, professional communication and guidance to customers throughout the loss mitigation process * Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve issues with a high level of service * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless workflow and efficient processing * Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CFPB guidelines related to loss mitigation and foreclosure prevention * Assist with administrative tasks such as bulk mailings and special correspondence campaigns * Escalate issues to management as appropriate and communicate status updates effectively * Stay current on industry regulations and recommend process improvements as needed * Update internal tracking systems and reporting tools accurately *Required Skills* * Loss mitigation knowledge * Document management and processing * Strong customer service orientation * Effective verbal and written communication * Attention to detail and accuracy * Problem-solving and organizational skills *Qualifications* * Experience in loss mitigation, mortgage servicing, or a related financial services role preferred * Familiarity with investor guidelines and regulatory requirements (CFPB, state, and federal) * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Proficiency in document management systems and Microsoft Office tools *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
