Position Description

Location: Mansfield, OH (2500 Park Avenue West)

Position Type: Full-time, 3-month contract (temp-to-perm potential)

Start Date: Targeting 6/15/2026

Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM-2:30 PM or 7:30 AM-4:00 PM)

Hours: 40/week + consistent overtime (up to 2 hours daily, occasional early start + Saturdays)

Pay Rate: $27.94/hr (DOE)

Bill Rate: $38.42/hr

Openings: 1

Submission Limit: 4 candidates per supplier

Position Overview

This is a production-focused welding role supporting both high-volume manufacturing and occasional prototype work. The welder will primarily work with steel and stainless steel components, contributing to fabrication, assembly, and final weld quality validation.

The role requires a hands-on, dependable welder comfortable working in a structured production environment with strict quality and certification standards.

Key Responsibilities



  • Perform production welding (majority of workload) with some prototype welding support
  • Execute TIG and MIG welding processes on steel and stainless steel materials
  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble pre-fabricated components into final assemblies
  • Set up fixtures, layouts, and work positioning for both production and prototype jobs
  • Operate programmed welding machines for production runs
  • Support automated welding operations during high-volume production cycles
  • Ensure all welds meet quality standards, including:


    • Destructive testing
    • Non-destructive testing


  • Maintain welding certifications and qualifications aligned to product-specific requirements
  • Assist with general shop tasks as needed


Certifications & Technical Requirements



  • ASME certification required for pressure vessel work (completed in-house)
  • Must be able to pass in-house weld testing if not currently certified
  • Required weld capabilities include:


    • Short arc (mild steel mild steel, F1)
    • Short arc (mild steel stainless steel, F1)
    • Spray arc (mild steel mild steel, F1)
    • Pipe welding (mild steel stainless steel, F2)
    • Submerged arc pipe welding (F1)


  • Experience with steel and stainless steel welding in a production environment is required


Work Environment & Expectations



  • Manufacturing/production-driven environment with steady workflow
  • High importance on attendance, punctuality, and reliability
  • Must be comfortable with frequent overtime and flexible scheduling
  • Candidates must successfully pass weld tests and meet internal certification standards


Ideal Candidate Profile



  • 2+ years of production welding experience (Level II equivalent)
  • Strong experience with TIG/MIG welding on steel and stainless steel
  • Comfortable working in both fabrication and assembly-based welding tasks
  • Ability to adapt between manual and machine welding operations
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and quality standards
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and production-focused mindset
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain in-house certifications
