Artificial Intelligence Reporter (Tarbell Grant-Funded Role) USA TODAY is seeking a reporter to join its Money/Tech team to cover the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence industry. This is a 12-month, full-time, grant-funded position supported by the Tarbell Center for AI Journalism. We're looking for a journalist who can move quickly on breaking news and produce high-quality daily coverage while also developing smart, reader-focused enterprise work. This reporter will help establish USA TODAY as a leading voice in explaining AI and its real-world impact on consumers, business and policy. Successful candidates are comfortable handling a high volume of content and are fluent in SEO, digital publishing and audience metrics. The ideal candidate has strong reporting and writing skills, sharp news judgment, and the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, engaging journalism. This role reports to the Money editor and will contribute consistent coverage of AI, including daily stories and enterprise reporting tied to industry trends, regulation and consumer impact. This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska, Hawaii and Wyoming. Salary: $76,464 for the year Responsibilities:
