Compensation

$27.49 per hour

Job Summary

The Flagger/Reclamation Spotter will be responsible for providing support and coordination of customer and trucking activities at the URP Reclamation Site as well as remote mine operations. The Flagger/Spotter position sets up traffic control and then assists contract haulers from exiting the mine/ reclamation sites. The spotter position assists customer trucks to ensure they unload soils in the correct location at the mine/ reclamation site. This position may also be required to manually pick up debris found in truck loads to ensure quality of the mine/ reclamation activities. The Flagger/Spotter will also use monitoring equipment to confirm environmental compliance of import loads. This position also requires housekeeping and site cleanup as directed by Foreman and/or Site Management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist crew with clean up and housekeeping around sites
  • Complete needed site and area inspections
  • Guide customer trucks to proper dump areas at Reclamation Sites
  • Guide haulers out of mine site by flagging public traffic
  • Monitor reclamation customer and contract hauler loads and remove debris (asphalt, trash, wood, etc)
  • Set up traffic control
  • Using environmental monitors to check loads as directed by Foreman and/or Site Manager
  • Other duties as outlined by Foreman and/or Site Manager
Education and/or Work Experience
  • Previous Flagger training preferred
  • Complete Flagger Certification and MSHA Training
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive company vehicle
Skills
  • Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Must be able to follow oral and written plans and directions
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must have a strong, team-oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
  • Understands MSHA and OSHA regulations
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to utilize hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need arise
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need arise
  • Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday
  • Ability to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction
