This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company business, a global leader of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions. Job Description Position Description - Business Process EngineerReports to the Manager, Business Process Engineering Responsibilities: This position will analyze and evaluate current business processes and identify areas for improvement. Diagnose problems using appropriate methodology and establish action plans to redesign, implement and monitor business processes to assure effectiveness. Provides guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations. 20% - Provides support for Business Process Engineering activities and successful results of Quality Management System (QMS) audits. Analyze and review past audit findings to determine systemic root cause resulting in no major findings during Customer audits and Registrar periodic & recertification audits. Lead Internal AS9100 audit, support Customer audit for assigned processes providing Root Cause and Corrective Action Responses to process escapes. 50% - Oversees audit NCR and CAPA processing to manage timely and effective problem closure and recurrence control. Provides support and facilitates SME and Process Owner activities to assure root cause is identified, and corrective actions meet the requirements of the Company QMS 20% - Prepare GAP Analysis and apply modern quality principles, concepts, and methods, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process variation management tools to continuously improve processes, mistake proof, reduce cost and ensure the quality of our products and services. 10% - Provides training and mentorship to less senior business process engineers, SMEs, and other personnel as needed. Establish tools for measuring business process performance and consistently work to update and further improve the processes. Define and maintain training and competency plans for business processes. Define and maintain business procedures and scripts and help communicate changes effectively throughout the organization. Requirements: The successful candidate has a BS/MS in science or engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or equivalent experience and5+ years of related experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry. Required experience includes:
Desired skills: Six Sigma Black or Green Belt. ASQ CQE/CQM Internal or Lead Auditor Certification. Experience or ability to facilitate or lead kaizen activities. Experience working in military or aerospace quality systems. Considerable experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
