Position Summary

Apogee's Data, Analytics & Integration organization focuses on implementing processes and solutions for Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Analytics and Integration.

The Data Engineer will work closely with Apogee's Lead Data Engineer and Analytics Engineer to build, enhance, and support enterprise data and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys developing data pipelines, solving business problems through data, and learning modern data platform technologies. The position offers an opportunity to grow across data engineering, analytics, data governance, master data management, and cloud data platforms while directly contributing to Apogee's enterprise data modernization efforts and helps enable trusted, data-driven decision making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using modern cloud data platforms
  • Develop and optimize SQL-based data transformations supporting analytics and reporting solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineers to deliver trusted data assets
  • Support data integration initiatives across ERP, operational, and external data sources
  • Troubleshooting data quality, performance, and operational issues
  • Participate in data governance, metadata management, and master data management initiatives
  • Create technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering standards and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 2-5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, data integration, or a related technical role.
  • Experience building and supporting data pipelines, data transformations, and data integration solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience supporting business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Exposure to data governance, master data management, or data quality programs.
  • Experience using Python or similar programming languages for data processing and automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and participation in cross-functional project teams.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of on-site office presence and remote work. The role involves primarily sedentary work, with extended periods of sitting and frequent use of computers and standard office equipment. Regular participation in virtual and in-person meetings is required, including collaboration with team members and stakeholders across multiple locations.

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000
