UNC Health's pediatric team is seeking a compassionate and skilled SpeechLanguage Pathologist Ito provide acute care services for children in a fastpaced, collaborative hospital environment. This position follows a Tuesday-Saturday schedule with rotating holiday coverage, supporting patients with medically complex needs across our pediatric acute care units. Acute pediatric experience is preferred, as it helps clinicians deliver highquality assessment and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents requiring specialized inpatient care.

Summary:

Speech Language Pathologist I provides evidence-based evaluation, treatment interventions, and educational instruction to patients and caregivers with various diagnoses and impairments affecting communication, swallowing, cognition and other disorders. The clinician provides student shadowing, clinical instruction, and participates in departmental and community continuing education and outreach.

Responsibilities:
1. Completes speech lang pathologist documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines.
2. Administers basic evaluation and diagnostic testing and analysis, establishes a plan of care that consists of current and advanced techniques and subsequent modification to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
3. Provides clinical precepting and teaching for graduate students, staff, and clinical fellows under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts.
4. Assists in the planning and coordinating of innovative clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist, supervisor, or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

Education Requirements:
* Graduation from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Speech-Language Pathology certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
* BLS within 3 months of hire date.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
