Bargaining unit consideration begins on 7/2/2026 and ends on 7/9/2026

This is a 2-year position with potential for extension contingent on funding. Workdays will be Monday through Friday (40 hr. work weeks) Possibility of an occasional Saturday and home visits.

About the Job

The individual in this position will work in our research clinic, examining long-term previously recruited participants in the Multi-ethnic study of Atherosclerosis. Successful candidate must have the ability to work as a team player and perform measurements carefully and accurately. This position has the responsibility of administering a variety of technical procedures, conduct several types of interviews and questionnaires, managing the flow of participants through various stages of the study exam. Periodic recertification in each performance area is required. This is a long-term study in which retention of the originally recruited participants is critical.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

Become certified in all areas of performance

50% perform any or all the following technical procedures:
blood pressure measurement, Oximetry, cognitive testing, physical function tests and any others procedures that may be added during the course of the exam. Sanitizing rooms after visits, storing equipment and preparing for next day.

50% interviews:
Conduct closed and open-ended interviews, over the phone and/or in person, with participants or their contacts according to specific protocols. Scoring Cognitive Assessment and completing forms. Scheduling appointments, reminder calls and mailing packets to participants, also assisting with preparation of result letters and mailing of these.
Collect and enter data electronically and record maintenance
Percentages will change depending on work needed at the time.

Cross train and learn other duties and responsibilities of the study as needed.

Successful candidate will have the following:

  • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse age, racial and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to work as a team player and quick learner.

Work hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm

In-person This position is required to work in person at ECRC at 1100 Washington Avenue South

Visa Language: Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (must be documented in application materials):

  • Bilingual (fluency in Spanish/English)
  • Three (3) years of experience in a medical office/research setting which may include recruiting, communications, survey interviewing (related education can count toward years of experience)
  • Must have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Basic computer skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Must have excellent phone skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and adhering to rigid protocol standards
  • Experience conducting in-depth survey interviews in person and/or over the phone
  • Completed training in any or all of the following technical areas: blood pressure measurement, anthropometry, cognitive testing and physical function tests
  • Health data collection experience
  • Experience in general office procedures
  • Detail oriented and able to learn study specific programs
  • Experience working as part of a team

Pay Range: $24.33 - $25.09 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
